TRUTH about chocolate




There are several miconceptions about chocolate, but facts prove otherwise.
MYTH: Chocolate promotes weight gain.



TRUTH: Though chocolate is energy-dense, its calorie value is not directly related to weight gain. The key is to burn as much as calories you consume.






MYTH: Chocolate causes acne.


TRUTH: Research shows that there is no relation between chocolate consumption and acne. Most dermatologists believe that diet has little to do with acne.




MYTH: Chocolate causes cavities.




TRUTH: Any other food with fermentable carbohydrate, not just chocolate can cause cavities. Chocolate even has tooth-protective compunds like glycoproteins, casein, proteins, and oxalic acid.






MYTH: Chocolate is addictive.



RUTH: No scientific evidence support this theory.






MYTH: Chocolate promotes hyperacidity.



TRUTH: Theobromine and caffeine levels in chocolate are too low to have any stimulant effect in a child's behvaior.





MYTH: Chocolates causes migraines.


TRUTH: More significant triggers are stress, hormonal changes, and low blood pressure. Chocolate is implicated in only 5% of cases.
